  • what is a bernedoodle or bernadoodle or berniedoodle?

    a bernedoodle, bernadoodle or berniedoodle (whichever you prefer is a intentional cross breed of a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle.

    Crossed intentionally to combat shorter life expectancy, common genetic health markers, better temperments, and for less shedding than their pure bred counterparts.

  • what is the energy level of a bernedoodle?

    moderate to low energy depending of course on parent temperments, and % of the bernese vs poodle. Bernedoodle are perfect companions for adventure and are more than happy to accompany you hiking, paddleboarding, camping, and are naturally outdoor enthusiest. They do not however have a great amount of endurance, which earns them the common title of couch potato dogs. They are just as happy to sleep in with you any given day of the week.

  • how are bernedoodles with cats, chickens or other animals?

    most bernedoodles have a low prey drive and typically are very indiffernet or enjoy the company of cats and other animals. Bernese Mountain Dogs were originally bred as farm dogs because of their calm nature and passive deamenor towards other animals.

  • are bernedoodles good with children?

    yes, they are spectaular with children naturally and are very affectionate. they are known to be quite patient with children even when being crawled all over.

  • are bernedoodles good in public?

    yes naturally bernedoodles are great with people. we do highly reccommend exposing your bernedoodle to new people early on so that they don’t grow timid around new people but bernedoodles are not naturally skiddish and are more known to make a best friend everywhere they go.

  • bernedoodles vs. goldendoodles, labradoodles or other doodle breeds?

    the largest differnce between a bernedoodle the commonly familiar goldendoodle or labradoodle seems to be the energy level. goldendoodles & labradoodles are made up of two working or retriving breeds. This mean their endurance and energy is greater than that of a bernedoodle who is unlikely to fetch regularly if at all. Both are wonderful companions for families and come in all colors and sizes though, and we love them all but are more partial to the laid back nature of the bernedoodles.

  • what is life expectancy of a bernedoodle?

    the life expectance of a bernedoodle is almost double that of most of their purebred ancestors. Depending on size and genetic health, most standard bernedoodles are expected to live 12-14 years and smaller bernedoodles 14-16years.
